My favorite season is fall. There is nothing like an amazing Colorado Fall day when the aspen leaves are dancing at their golden peak. Every year, I hike the Colorado trails in search of beautiful fallen colored leaves. Fall 2002, I was inspired to gather bags of aspen leaves. I hand picked every leaf, pressed every single leaf for six months, varnished each leaf, and inked each leaf.
“Colorado Fall Day #3” was a perfect print, which makes “Colorado Fall Day #4” complete. After pulling my third print my plate was well season for print #4. The plate gave the feeling of the first sugar dusting; winter is on its way. I turned the aspen leaves for the final time, beautiful oranges and yellows were blending nicely. My Aspen Leaves series is one of my favorites. It starts with a perfect fall day and ends with the peaceful feeling winter is soon to approach.
Hanging all four prints together illustrates the movement of constant change, of light, color, and life. I hope you enjoy these magical prints, available in a variety of sizes to accommodate your personal space - Enjoy!
