Photographs by the Previously Blind

Pictures taken by once-blind cornea transplant recipients make up a new exhibit scheduled to open November 16, 2012. The Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank asked cornea transplant recipients to participate in its Circle of Light Photo Project by taking and submitting pictures of what they’re grateful to see with restored vision. Many of the photos collected will be exhibited at Artwork Network, located at 878 Santa Fe Drive, and will remain on display through November 21. A free reception will be held on November 16 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Art Collecting 101

SPIRE, Denver’s best-selling high-rise living community, is set to host a panel and discussion for area art enthusiasts during Denver Arts Week. This free event, sponsored by Artwork Network and the Clyfford Still Museum’s 1944 Society, aims to educate new and aspiring collectors, as well as offer a chance to explore, experience, and enjoy SPIRE’s luxurious amenities.

Guests can expect to learn tips and advice about collecting art from some of the most respected members of Denver’s art community. Each of the knowledgeable speakers will offer varied perspectives to new and aspiring collectors on how to critique, acquire, and care for artwork. A tour will immediately precede the panel discussion to allow guests to see theory in play, above the Denver Skyline on Spire 38th floor. Several paintings by Artwork Network artists, Tadashi Hayakawa (Parker, Colorado) and Michael Moon (Los Angeles, California), will be featured.. This event marks the beginning of Artwork Network’s new Art Rotation services for the SPIRE. Every 90 days a new selection of artwork will be on view for current and prospective residents of this luxury community.

The event will be held on Thursday November 8, 2012 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm in the 9th Floor lounge at SPIRE, located at 891 14th Street in downtown Denver. Tours of the units will occur from 5:30-6:30 pm with the panel starting at 6:45 pm. Guests will enjoy complimentary beer, wine, and appetizers, and will have the opportunity to enter to win exciting raffle items. The event is free to the public. Space is limited. We had another beautiful wedding in the gallery this month.  Eric and Amanda’s ceremony & reception were punctuated by some vibrant Gus Harper paintings.  Best wishes to this happy couple!  (Images courtesy of Lori J Photography.)

Hosting a 48 Hours Special

Way back in February, we played hosts to CBS News.  Blacked out windows, a gallery full of cameras and cords – it was pretty exciting for us.  The 48 Hours special, which we now know is titled “Collision Course”, will air this Saturday.

Setup as a “mock event”, the gallery invites planners to imagine this unique, creative backdrop as the future venue for their own events.  Sponsored by a few of Artwork Network’s preferred vendors, guests will be enjoying free valet parking by Jay’s Valet, catering by Epicurean, wine and beer from Mondo Vino, desert items from Chocolate Lab of Denver, with tables, chairs, and linens provided by Event Rents.

We know our beautiful space will win you over, so it’s just icing on the cake that you’ll receive an oh-so-delectable 20% off your next event at Artwork Network.

This “Mock Event” is free to attend!

Seminar for Non-profit Event Planners

Reaching out to Non-profit Event Planners:
Artwork Network to Host Blacktie’s Seminar

Artwork Network Gallery & Event Center is set to host Blacktie’s Non-profit Seminar on September 28th, 2011.  Blacktie (www.blacktie-colorado.com) is a tool for non-profit organizations to track online registrations, donations, auctions, seating charts, nametags, financials per event, and more.

The Blacktie Seminar is free to attend, and the first 25 non-profit representatives to RSVP will be entered into a drawing to win one FREE online registration with Blacktie.  Click here (www.blacktie-colorado.com/calendar/event-detail.cfm?id=22508 ) for more information or to RSVP to the event.

Weddings at Artwork Network: Tiffany & Jermiah

We were so honored Tiffany & Jermiah chose the Artwork Network Gallery & Event Center as their reception venue.  It was an incredible evening full of pretty pinks and blues and candlelight put together by Organically You Events, and then perfectly captured by photographers Gino Siller and Kara Pearson.  A Denver wedding in the trendy Art District on Santa Fe can play “urban cool”,  “modern” or “romantic”, and this special event captured all sides.  Congrats again to the lovely couple!
