Years Ago, I came across a workbook on I Ching and have studied it ever since. It serves as a guide in navigating patterns of relationship in families and society such as the practice of business, the craft of government, the grim art of warfare, the eternal dramas of love, ambition, conflict, and honor. It can be used to define and pursue one’s inner development.

Reading and considering I Ching is like unwrapping, unfolding, and discovering oneself. Each of my paintings contains the intention of a particular hexagram that I find relates to my current life situation.

Healing is at the core of my art and life. In my former occupation of nursing, I offered practical assistance, solace and comfort to those whose bodies were healing and to those whose final transition I would witness.

I believe that making art is a core necessity to communicate the human condition. These paintings can be meditation, an intention or belief or the experience of chaos and confusion. They encourage pensive consideration, quiet meditation, stillness and mindfulness.
